07/05/2022

The Al Ain Court of Appeal upheld the court's decision to award 70,000 dirhams to a man accused of beating a woman and injuring her shoulder and a disability of 30% in the upper left arm.
The Al Ain Court of appeals upheld the First Instance Court's ruling. The complainant had approached the court seeking compensation of 100000 dirhams.
The plaintiff had informed the court that the defendant had sustained multiple injuries to the shoulder in the attack, sprains of the humeral joint ligament, neck pain, and injuries to the right and left legs.
Defendant appealed against the verdict, stating that the plaintiff's injuries were minor and that she had been undergoing treatment prior to the incident.
The forensic report confirmed that the injuries affected the movement of the left shoulder joint, causing slight weakness in the muscles of the upper left arm and leading to an inability to carry heavy loads. Persistent pain, which is 30% of permanent disability.
The first instance court ordered the victim to pay 70,000 dirhams without costs and 300 dirhams in attorney's fees.
The previous court's verdict proved that the defendant assaulted the victim and inflicted the injuries described in the medical report, and the court confirmed that the verdict was final.
