The Dubai criminal court has sentenced a Gulf citizen to seven years in prison for cutting off a victim's hand following a verbal dispute.
Defendant was convicted of intentionally causing permanent disability to another person following a dispute over the purchase of the dog.
The incident dated back to October last year.The man advertised the sale of a dog he owned on an animal trading platform on a social networking site.
Adding that a man contacted the complainant and requested him to inspect the dog before buying it.
Defendant went to the victim's home and found the dog, but before the transaction was completed, the complainant's daughter asked the father not to sell the dog and to raise it.The defendant got angry that developed into a fight.
The victim brought a small knife and threatened the complainant.The hand was amputated.
During interrogation, the defendant confessed that he had assaulted the victim after he had attacked him with a knife following the verbal abuse.
However, defendant denied that the victim deliberately caused permanent disability.
