An Asian domestic worker has been arrested for practicing witchcraft against his employer. He was convicted of a felony under the UAE Federal Penal code.
The Dubai Public Prosecution has referred the housemaid to the Misdemeanor Court. The victim alleged that he was suffering from mental and physical exhaustion following the incident and suspected that his maid was practicing black magic. The victim also brought to the notice of the court certain incidents as evidence of black magic. The victim also stated that he heard a strange murmur while in the bathroom in the middle of the night.
When the maid's phone was checked, it was found that the maid was communicating with a stranger. It turned out that the man had told her that her employer should pay her 200 dirhams instead of praying for her to be treated well.
The employer found a picture of a doll with talismans and a piece of blood-stained cloth in the maid's room.
During interrogation, the prosecution said that one of his relatives had contacted him to communicate with a 'religious man'. The housemaid was subsequently arrested.
